These shorts were from third grade, when I was a young bully and my guidance counselor had said that my parents needed to get me involved in something. So, they got me involved in the Cotuit track club on Cape Cod. I ended up thinking that I was the best runner ever and it empowered me and I stopped being a bully. Strangely, my two kids ended up wearing these shorts. I have no idea why, because they’re really old-school shorts. But there’s something that I could never let go of because of the fact that it just reminds me of a time where I was a little less kind and that I should always try to be a little bit kinder and a better human being.
