In the eighties, I was wearing a pair of Moon-Boots for about seven minutes, and it was traumatizing.
They were all the rage, and after much haggling, I convinced my mom to buy me a pair. We went to a shoe store and I quickly found a pair I loved. All was good. Except: I was 13 years old, but already 6’ 4″ tall, shoe size 13. This was more or less unheard of at the time. Even the largest size didn’t fit, and that was that with my dreams of ever wearing Moon-Boots.
I was so angry that I decided to stop growing, which actually worked.
